Getting Started
It's true: teaching with OER and affordable resources can require considerable labor. However, implementing OER is an ongoing process, and it doesn't have to mean writing an entire textbook from scratch. Start small, slow, and strategically to keep the work sustainable. You might:
Publish a worksheet you've already created as OER.
Switch to using a library eBook.
Remix existing OER into a new course reader.
Design an OER simulation activity, test it in one class session, and scale it up next year.
Have students create their own test questions (open pedagogy).
Collect assessment data and refine content over several semesters.
No matter your goals or your starting point, we offer support to make your work easier.
